He seems to be under the theory that a) released child killers get out early weekly and b) the second the parents or anybody else lays a finger on him, they're getting arrested and going to trial.

Apparently, they're going to leave forensic evidence all over the place and absolutely nobody will help them out with an alibi or whatnot. And the cops will suddenly have a 100% solve rate on crimes and the willingness to see this thing through.

frick... if I was a cop I'd chalk it up as an unsolvable case. Bury the file and move on to the next one.
