Outside lights for house

Looking to get some landscape lights for the house. Live at the end of our street and house sits back off the road 300ft (on 6 acres) and even with front light on its very dark. Was wanting some small flood lights (if that's the right term) that shine up onto the house at various spots.
Had an electrician quote a price last year while out doing some work and it was over $1500 which I thought was steep. Of course I could get two packs of lights that just plug in at Home Depot for $100 each. Anyone use these or any middle ground or other suggestions?

No idea on price but you could do smaller LED lights on the eave of your house like below.

Are you wanting lights to shine "onto the house" or are you wanting flood lights that are attached to the house that will light up the yard?
Stake lights will stake into the ground and shine onto your house or whichever direction you want. You will either need an outlet to plug them in, or you will need to buy the solar ones. Solar are not as bright, generally speaking.
Flood (wall or eve mounted) light is what I have. I took down old halogen lights and replaced with LED flood lights with both motion detector and dusk to dawn feature. Extremely bright.

Shine onto the house.
Where did you get yours and I assume you are satisfied?

Got mine at home depot. Yes I am very satisfied. Definitely go LED. Much brighter and don't have to deal with changing the bulbs.
