What did you think of American Sniper?

I thought Cooper was pretty good. But overall, I thought the movie was very meh. It had no storyline. Yes, it was a war movie that showed the effects it can have on home life. But it just didn't do much for me.

Hurt Locker showed the same effects and smoked the shite out of American Sniper. As did Jarhead.

As for middle eastern fighting, Black Hawk Down has that on lock.

I agree it was meh overall and it's overrated.

I just watched Gone Girl for the first time and was coming here to see who it was up against for Best Movie... WTF.

Was thinking the same thing. And I really enjoyed Chadwick Boseman's performance in Get On Up. Thought be should be in the Best Actor in a Leading Role category.

Three kings is still the best Iraqi war movie. But I also loved The Hurt Locker.

Academy really blew it on this one.
