As a huge Russell and Plissken fan, this will hurt watching yet another pillar of my childhood refurbished but luckily Carpenter will be involved.

LINK

Gerard Butler was rumored attached to a previous reboot. Who would be decent choices?

Russell was 30 when EFNY was filmed so I would think someone in that range (25-35).

Disqualified:
Shia LaBeouf
Channing Tatum

Possibles:
Emile Hirsch
Charlie Hunnam

No Angel Eyes, no Marty, no care.

They can make ScarJo "Maggie" and I still don't care to watch it.

JGL or Idris Elba would be the two most obvious choices

What about Chris Pratt or for that matter Bradley Cooper.

I've never seen EFNY, but have seen EFLA more than a few times. Guess I need to watch it.

Book was great.

Interestingly, Snake's mode of transport at the beginning of the book sounds a lot like the tube transport system Musk is proposing.
