Someone enlighten me and tell me why I should think otherwise?

Saban demoted him from the defensive coorindator position in 2007 at Alabama.

He was hired as the DC at Clemson in 2009, and was then fired in 2012 for fielding one of the worst defenses in the country. In his last game at Clemson, his defense gave up 70 points to WVU in the Orange Bowl, which is the largest amount of points ever allowed in a bowl game.

Saban lost to Gerry Dinardo in a bowl game.

And to ULM.

And to UAB.

You can pull embarrassing shite from anybody's coaching career.

I ain't defending the guy, but "fielding one of the worse defenses in the country" usually does not get you to the Orange Bowl. Maybe the Music City Bow, but not the Orange Bowl.

Bowls are a glorified scrimmage unless the teams are actually playing for something.

You think TCU actually haymakers Ole Miss in a regular season game?
