Ha, ha yeah, Hitchcock's movies were almost never adapted from novels. Check with the creative team behind the remake of Psycho and ask them if it's a good idea to "remake" his films. I'd really want the added pressure of knowing my film was going to automatically be compared to the work of one of the greatest film makers of all time. The only good thing that will come of this is the possibility that maybe it will cause a younger generation to become interested in Hitchcock's original work.
