i can tell you, man, that being around the shite for over twenty some odd years, in my opinion, not true

two of the best three i've ever seen/hunted with, we're mix breeds

that's because,(by the grace of god), one of my dads best coon dog clients head stud breeded his next door neighbors pure tenn mt. feist, those dogs were probably the best pure all around hunting dogs i've ever seen in my life.. and at 31 and doing a good bit of bird/coon hunting and i've seen a few.. and i think training has a HUGE part to do with overall hunting dog development EXCEPT with beagles, they are just such a damn crap shoot..

that being said, you need to throw a curve ball into your coon DNA pool! get you a top notch bitch or a top notch mix breed bitch

but then again, if we can all get ourselves a top notch bitch and top notch mix breed bitch, we all would be better off

There's definitely exceptions out there, but nobody is letting go of good coon dogs for less than 3 stacks.

$1000 usually gets you a slick treeing tree leaving barking in the pen pain in the arse.

Puppies are a complete crapshoot. You can get one to stand on a tree and bark, but the chances of it making something you can show up at a competition with are not good.
