Yeah this game should have been at least over the weekend. I hate the long layoff, and you're right, it took away a lot of momentum of wanting to watch it.

I think you guys have got it backwards. The 3+ weeks after announcing the top 4 before the NYD games helped those games hypewise. A lot of anticipation.
It's like we just found out who would make the championship game and now it's here.
Plus, previous games have had that aura of "challenging for the championship"... dethroning the SEC. Auburn losing last year and certainly Bama not even being in it this year have obviously sucked the air out of that sail.
