Simon missed his rookie season because of a pair of foot injuries and was only elevated into heavy playing time by an injury to Jeremy Lane, but the LSU product’s arrival and the Seahawks’ defensive turnaround don’t appear to be a coincidence. The Seahawks allowed more than 300 yards passing just once in the 10 games in which Simon took his place with the rest of their vaunted secondary, compared to four times in Seattle’s first five games.
