example: what if the best candidate for DC runs a 4-2-5, like TCU. he's gonna need to know that his staff can coach it, can do things the way they need to be done. his career is at stake.

all the coaches you just named still had a say in who their assistants would be. they dont have to literally carry the same guy from job to job, it just has to be a coach they know and like and have confidence in.

because aleva is a fricking moron, we dont have a situation like that. we cant simply go get the best DC, we need a guy who can fit in with the staff our dumbass AD already hired.
