Stay close to the shore, figure 5 days or so.

Assuming you aren't arrested for violating a secured area.

Friend of mine took his son's boy scout troop canoeing on the river last summer. They all made it back.

True story, a couple years back two Canadians rode down the entirety of the river on kayak. They stopped a friend of mines land in north la, he gave them some beer and food.
