No, sir. "Clarfying it" doesn't mean changing it to try and fit it into what you originally said now that you realize it doesn't hold much, if any, water.

You can't say that they have no idea who he is and now say "Well, just knowing his name and that he was a Beatle is almost nothing." Those two things are mutually exclusive. Knowing his name and that he was a Beatle (which is what made him the most famous) means exactly that they know who he is. Thus, you're changing your stance like I said.

Other than Carrie Underwood, I can't name a single thing she's done aside from winning American Idol (I think). But that doesn't mean I don't know who she is. I couldn't name a single James Cagney film, but I know that he was a famous actor, especially in old gangster pictures. Etc.

It's not changed, I explained what I meant by what I said. Sorry you don't agree.

Not only can I, I did. Because recognizing two very popular names doesn't mean you know anything about those two names.
