Once again, you fail to pay attention. This is a recent development. Reading reviews in 2011 would have done no good. The player still works on older discs it just cannot read anything made after 2014 because of the way they are now formatting the discs.

Well I did say after a certain year and that all of my discs played prior to Christmas still worked...
