You can credit the gift card to your Amazon account and then just use it whenever you buy something on Amazon.

Gift card balances never expire on Amazon and they don't charge any kind of inactivity fees. When you purchase something it will give you the option to use your credit balance on your account or pay with your credit card.

So add it to your account and then you don't have to worry about losing or forgetting about it.
