I have a small gripe with "Fury" (spoilers maybe)

First of all, I really liked the movie and the storyline. Casting was really good for the most part.
but in a WW2 movie, is it necessary to trace the gunshots & bullets with the colored lasers? Is this WW2 or Star Wars? Why does this piss me off so much?

Dude, he even says in the movie that every 5th round was a tracer, so that you could see where the rounds were going...
