Recruiting impact if we lose Chavis

This can be a huge factor in trying to land Mack and Phillips. What do you guys think

Same response as the last thread, it certainly doesn't help anything

Hire Bebe and Brent, lose nobody.

If they hire Orgeron, I think it will hedge some of the loss. Chavis will probably take Mack to A&M, but Bebe also has Tennessee connections, so we may be able to keep Phillips.

Whoever replaces him should be on the phone with Dylan Moses within 5 mins of signing his contract.
I would assume Mack is headed to A&M if this holds up.

Not only would it hurt us, but it will help aTm. They are an offense only team. With Chief at D.... They could shut down the SEC-W. Sumlin is a smart guy. He knows his weaknesses and is going for our jugular. We are the only team in the SEC he has never beaten... That could change if we don't let loose of a little $$ and pride.
It won't matter how many seats we have if they don't fill up.

Not all recruits commit to a school bc of a coach. A lot commit bc of the school. We probably will miss out on some guys bc of this but as long as we make a good hire everything will be ok

Anytime you lose a coordinator you lose recruits. But remember that the flip side is that any new Defensive Coordinator will also BRING WITH HIM a few unexpected gems.
A week ago Aggie was melting down. Tonight it's LSU melting down. But where there is change there is also opportunity. It may be a net loss, but it won't be a catastrophe by any means. And signing day is still a month away.

Losing him to a recruiting and divisional rival is straight up horrible for LSU. We will be losing recruits to A&M left and right. I went from being excited for 2016 to scared of it.

Guys I knows it hurts right now but we've lost great coordinators before and bounced back. I don't think this is gonna kill us like some are saying. It's not like TAMU hired Les Miles. These recruits come here because of our program and history of great defenses. Chavis didn't start that. The sun will shine tomorrow, and we will be fine.

What cracks me up about this thread is that everyone is worrying how this would effect the incoming class.....
Yet, on the other side of the spectrum, people want Les gone ASAP.
Whenever Les is gone, you can expect whatever class that would be compiled to completely disintegrate.
I gotta give the guy one more year of my patience.
Imagine the class LSU misses out on if Miles is fired next year

To be completely honest guys I don't think he leaves. From the article I read the issue isnt with LSU its with the clause in the contract he was offered that stated if for some reason Les leaves he will only be compensated for the next six months meaning if another coach comes along and brings his staff with him the University isnt responsible for the full buyout. I see it as a tug of war with the head honchos not with Miles and that they are calling his bluff and I believe so am I. His raise in the new contract was going to be +30k for 3 years, they also offered him a 2 year contract without the clause and he didn't like that as well. That being said, Michigan job is off the line so does he really think Les is leaving in the next 3 years and also why go to A&M and risk job security if the guy gone preform under him and heck he doesn't know if Sumlin will be there for the next 3 years. I think he stays and that he isn't making a media stir because he doesn't want it to affect recruits. Just my .02

Nick Saban loses his offensive coordinator each year and he still gets elite recruits. Point is, I don't want anyone who doesn't want to be apart of LSU. To be honest with the exception of 2011, the defense has greatly underachieve and seem to never stop a good team from scoring in the last two minutes. We have had too much defensive talent not to be on top like Bama. Lastly, I thought players played for the head coach, not the asst.
