Bears HC Candidates
NAME
CURRENT JOB
Bill Cowher
CBS Television
Of the usual suspects - Dungy, Gruden, Billick, Shanahan, etc. - he's the best fit for the Bears, but he's staying in TV.
Dan Mullen
Mississippi State head coach
Will be the hottest name among the college coaches sought after this year.
Jim Mora Jr.
UCLA head coach
Was hotter a few weeks ago before UCLA faded, but an interesting resume for old line thinkers.
Kevin Sumlin
Texas A&M head coach
Will be hot every year until he makes the leap but this wasn't his best year at A&M.
Todd Bowles
Arizona Cardinals defensive coordinator
Cardinals' Defensive Coordinator will get a job this year, nice fit for Bears.
Matt Patricia
New England Patriots defensive coordinator
Patriots Defensive Coordinator is probably my first choice for Bears but not as well known as some others.
Vic Fangio
San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator
The man is a great defensive coach and Harbaugh's coordinators will be almost as hot as he is if they don't go with their boss.
Jack Del Rio
Denver Broncos defensive coordinator
Did some good things in Jacksonville, left some issues behind him, has done an excellent job in Denver and most likely gets a second chance somewhere.
Greg Roman
San Francisco 49ers offensive coordinator
The man is a great offensive coach and . . . see Vic Fangio.
Darrell Bevell
Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator
Brett Favre and Russell Wilson are nice resume pieces and he'd almost certainly be the run the ball and play defense coach Bears Nation craves.
Adam Gase
Denver Broncos offensive coordinator
Considering the job Mike McCoy has done in San Diego and that Gase is his protege and successor in Denver, teams would be wise to take a close look.
Josh McDaniels
New England Patriots offensive coordinator
This guy knows offense but made a ton of mistakes in Denver. Of course I guess Bill Belichick's time in Cleveland hasn't haunted him too badly in New England?
Bill Lazor
Miami Dolphins offensive coordinator
A surprise candidate who's done a great job with Ryan Tannehill in Miami this year.
Tom Clements
Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator
Packers offensive coordinator long rumored in Bears conversations, runs a great offense and definitely Tom Thayer's choice.
Dave Toub
Kansas City Chiefs special teams coordinator
Dave is a highly qualified candidate who I can't believe hasn't had more interviews, he'd be a great bridge to any of the "Lovie guys" left and could be someone the family would be very comfortable with.
