We're talking 7 or 8 mil a year being the ceiling. Given this fact, would you really say Miles is overpaid? I think he's about where he should be.

Right where he needs to be. If he wins another NC, is contract will put him in that stratosphere. Till then LSU needs to sit tight at 4.3. Having his alma mater pass on him a 3rd time and no NC to show for all that NFL talent has cooled the jets of the "any team would love to have Miles" crowd.

Miles is not overpaid for anyone with a brain. His program had a $50 million profit last year.

And to answer the OP: no, he's not overpaid. He's right about where he ought to be.

Nope. He's underpaid. People can try to shite on Les as much as they want but that won't change the fact that he's accumulated the best ten year record in the sec. And most of it was with Jefferson and Lee at qb. He won a championship with Flynn on a bum ankle and had lazy arse Jamarkus who was benched for
tight end Marcus Randall by lord saban before that. Mett was a fantastic recovery after losing our most promising qb prospect in 2010 (Zach Lee) who was leading 7on7s all summer. Les just gets it done without a Red Elephant club and without the he head of officiating in his back pocket and he deserves a bit more credit than he gets. Saban is really really good, but he ain't that good. Les gets after him on the field every single damn year. Some of these wannabe critics need to go pull for a&m and see how they feel when they get beat 59-0.

I think most of the high paid college coaches are overpaid- Where does it stop?

I love sports as much as the next guy but we are allowing the entertainment sector to define our culture. We accept thugs, cheating and who knows what else----

Years ago we played football, built character in players.

Now many players are characters of interest

Yes. In the last few years salaries have skyrocketed. But LSU's standing in the SEC has fallen.

If you are honest with yourself LSU is in the middle the pack in the secw. We are paying our coaches a lot more than that.

LSU spares no expense for football.

If we continue the recent trend of around 4th place in our division then yes. His salary is probably close to correct given the recent upswing.

Next year will tell a lot. We need to beat Bama sooner rather than later. We have played them to the end but they keep coming up with the W. Les needs to fix that or his time will not be long.

Well. Look around the country at coaching salaries, then count the number of active head coaches who have won a national championship. There are 3 in the SEC; Spurrier, Saban, and Miles. Spurrier hasn't won anything in almost 2 decades.

The top paid coaches in the SEC are Saban, Sumlin, then Freeze and Miles tied at 3rd. Based purely off of on-field achievement in a relevant time frame Miles should be no worse than tied for second highest paid coach in the conference.

Maybe he shouldn't be paid more than he is, but Sumlin and Freeze should be paid less.

His salary is inversely proportional to the end result the last couple of years concluding with this one. He's been paid well for his time here but it obvious that the talent is too much for him. Our players go to the NFL and perform quite well, he has had 10 years to produce QBs and we are in a hole right now. When a coach get paid top 5 money and recruits top 5 teams we should end better than outside of the top 20. IMO, my tiger rant on LM.
