It's the last game of the season he should get some playing time at CB.

He's a bust. Probably going to be cut before the season next year.

Ok.
Maybe he's just stupid?

Gilbert's problems seem to be a lack of maturity and work ethic, not talent.

I want to see the dude play. It seems he is putting the time in, so I want to see what he has retained.

He can retain on the knowledge in the world....means absolutely zero on the field.

Doesn't the kid have sick numbers/measurements, though? If he can understand the system, then I'm sure he has the talent to make it work. Besides, isn't he a zone coverage CB? Learning a new system, especially when you play a lot of zone, can be pretty difficult.

So the best way for him to improve is to get reps on the field

why do we even swing at homerun pitches. When have we ever shown the ability to develop anyone at all on d. Our position coaches are fking terrible, and our defensive scouts may just be even worse.

It's not just a feeling. He is lost. As far as how much of a lost cause he is, we need to find out. I say we start him this week. He has a year of practice under his belt. Let's see what he can do. We have nothing to lose except the football game and that doesn't matter anymore. He can't be that much worse than these other guys but if he is we might as well find out now.
