Wish Caleb the best of luck as he has obviously chosen to follow a dream instead of a lower division where he would be assured of playing. Not sure where his journey will end, but he is taking a shot.
I can really relate to Caleb & his family, cause a little over a decade go, my "little" QB made the same decision. When doing the research for his recruiting, considered only a handful of the lower tier D-1 schools, concentrating on 1-AA & D-2. And then he comes to me one day & says, "Dad, I will never know if I don't try". My focus shifted & he landed at IU with DiNardo.
Ironically, had a shot with the Tigers. The day Ricard left, the phone rang. Dr. Nader says, "Get him over to the locker room for equipment, he is on the 105". He was already at IU. Won't say how I felt at that moment.
Bottom line, he had a great D-1 freshmn experience. Made the travel squad, went to Mich, Penn St games, etc. Was actually #2 on the depth chart at one point due to injuries. Would any of that happened in Baton Rouge? No, but I know where he would have been on Jan 4, 2004 :-)
Good luck Caleb. Follow your dreams son. Know you have at least one fan that will be following your career path wherever it takes you.
