Whistler is so hard to get to. I like Utah. I can leave NOLA on an early flight and Ski that afternoon at Brighton. There is also a 7ish flight so you can ski the day you leave

Alaska Air has a daily Non-Stop to/from MSY-SEA, so this is no longer true.
MSY-SEA (4 hours non-stop)
SEA-YVR (Vancouver) 40 minute commuter plane
Rental Car or Van from YVR to Whistler (2 hour drive, great road now)
PROFIT
Colorado and Utah reorts are nice too, direct flights from MSY to SLC and DIA
