Thanks for the compliment Bap. It's a 16" barrel. 9-1 twist chrome lined. I'm hoping for some 1" @ 100 yard groups once I get me a good optic. I didn't want to go the built route for my first. I'm very particular about my firearms and want to know each little bit of the workings and build of them.

Prepare to be disappointed unless you are handloading for it. Even then it's going to fluctuate as copper builds up and the chrome lining settles to where it stops cracking for a few thousand rounds. Your cleaning habits will dictate that too. A 4x ACOG is really a very good all-purpose optic if you pony up the $$$ for the real thing. Set up dove clays at 100yds and get consistent at shooting them with that or even a dot sight.

My bad. The long handguard played tricks on me and made me think it was longer.

I think either optic would be good. But one thing to think about - put an ACOG on there, and it is now twice the price of the rifle. Also be sure you look through an ACOG before buying - the eye relief is strange. But if the military trusts them, I'm sure they are durable and high quality, as is my personal RMR. Just make sure you know what you're dropping coin on.
