He means they pull a negative net profit, not that they don't make money. They make a shite load of money, they simply reinvest it back into the company, which shows up as expenses on the income statement. They have more expenses than income most quarters.

When your debt line to income is -$4billion it is hard to show a profit. Actual debt (period ending October) is way higher than that figure.
