It is not a question of what is or is not wrong with "that take", the question is will such an opion find support among GOP primary voters. The Original article linked shows that the GOP has been (almost blindly) pro Cop since the days of Nixon. And they do not appear to be willing to change, at least not at this time.
Just wait until the attack ads start from other GOP candidates.

Nothing, but it seems that a lot of folks don't think that it's wrong for a Republican to empathize with Black folks, as opposed to the folks at Cliven Bundy's ranch. Keep in mind that Paul never condoned the riots in Ferguson, only that he can understand why inner-city Black folks might view the police differently than suburban White folks.
