I don't think it's reactionary at all. Manning's arm hasn't been the same since he came back from neck surgery. This year has been especially telling though. DBs are making a lot of plays on his out patterns and he can't really throw the deep ball. He threw a pass tonight that was ~35yds and it looked like that was all had to give.

The Bengals shutting down the screen game was huge. The Broncos seem to rely on that to get their offense rolling and it wasn't there tonight.

I think he has to have something wrong with him right now. He looks bad. If he doesn't have something wrong, he should quit.

I just think he's an older guy that is coming off of a neck surgery, with an arm that just isn't that great anymore.
It's amazing that he is still playing at such a good level. Just shows how amazing of a quarterback he has been over the course of his career. The best.
He shouldn't quit after this year. However, if he comes back next year and can't play at the level he wants to again, I think he'll hang it up.
