It's cool breaux. I don't have the energy to argue this shite anymore. One band plays songs. The other takes you through journeys of space and time and actually type 2 jams. They're different bands. not for everybody. I will give this to danman though, trey consistently does have better tone in his guitar. Keith urban has a damn fine tone as well

Let's not forget which band is associated with the origins of the term "Type II."

Obviously I am not implying that Phish was the first jam band to implement free flowing improvisation, but rather that specific term came to be while describing Phish's new style of jamming circa 1994.
