Not irrelevant at all. No more irrelevant than a neighbor allowing his St.Benard to take a daily dump on your front walk way because he's jealous of your landscape. As with the display, it is designed to spoil a space, not celebrate something.
It does make one feel sad in a way for those placing it. Kind of says if they can't enjoy the Christmas season, then by damn their hoping no one else can either. The display exacts no pleasure for those placing it, other than knowledge that it might lessen someone else's happiness.
Yet Atheists here are pleased.
