I do understand what homicide means. A couple of yall are struggling with it.
Homicide doesn't mean he dies of natural causes. It doesn't mean his death was accidental. It doesn't mean his death was suicide. It means he was killed by someone.
You can argue that the killing was justified. Lol. You can argue that it was accidental. You cannot argue that it wasn't homicide.

Actually, you can not argue "accidental" homicide. That does not exist. Manslaughter is a legal term, however.

You are under the misconception that the determination that Garner's death was a homicide is dispositive of the issue of whether a crime was committed. It is not. Because it was ruled a homicide by the ME, there was a criminal investigation. That investigation resulted in a finding of no criminal conduct.
