I'm not sure you understand how points work?
For instance
Chase Ink 70K bonus points for 5000K spent in first 3 months. Just bought house without any appliances. Bought appliances and paid balance next day. Roughly worth two free tickets to pretty much anywhere.
5x points for phone, electricity, office supply stores

The money was going to get spent whether I earned rewards or not so I chose to earn rewards. Not sure you get how this thing works.
