They've done a pretty good job taking over the drug trade in much of the country.
I saw an interesting post on the movie/tv board the other day in regards to Breaking Bad.
Their basic complaint was at the end of the show the quality curtailed because the gang began to center around the "white brotherhood", as if somehow a gang of mixed race murderers, drug dealers and pimps is superior to one that is of a single racial type. It was interesting that they saw the race of the criminals as more important than the actions of the criminals.

Back in the 60s, there was a TV version of "The Untouchables". The villains, organized crime, were mostly Italians. Then some Italian-American groups protested, and suddenly the villians were guys named 'Smith' and 'Jones', etc.
