It's an accounting fiction that federal employees and soldiers "pay" taxes. They "return" taxes. I think that's where the word "return" even comes from.

ETA: And sorry for lumping you in with the 9/11 truthers - we've had our battles on here over the years, but I catch myself agreeing with you, occasionally - I'm a free trade, non-interventionist, too - from a core philosophical standpoint.
