You have offered no solution except that it is the driver's of the cars at fault because they don't pay attention. You leave no room for the amount of bad 18 Wheeler drivers that use their mass to pass when and how they want to. I have been nearly run off the road by them multiple times. While I can agree that there are a lot of bad drivers out there my point still stands. The way we use the interstates today is NOT what they were designed to do, and the 18 wheeler is not compatible with the congestion we deal with in today's world. We need special interstates that take them out of pedestrian car traffic or we need to have a massive re-design for the 18 wheeler. If you can't find logic in that I can't help you. You seem to leave all the bad 18 wheeler drivers out of your equation.

One problem is that both the size and weight of trailers has been increased in an effort to have trucks compete with railroads - and those heavy trucks tear up the highways and are dangerous.

who is going to pay for this?
our countries infrastructure is already in shambles

the interstate system was designed to move goods, that you expect to be on the shelf when you go to the store
