Not in preparation and that was the difference. Harris needed to make for his lack of experience with something and he thought his talent alone would do it...it didn't. Learning experience.

Where do people get this stuff?

The saddest thing is Jennings put in all this work yet still was the worst qb in the sec

That is sad....what is also sad is that Harris couldn't (or couldn't figure out how to) beat him out.

No, because your talent level and skill set is nowhere near Jennings.

I had a better QB rating than he did versus New Mexico State. So did you.

I think that's excessive. He should have received more playing time, but I believe Les was also trying to protect him. He has a world of talent and after Auburn I think Les was worried about destroying his confidence forever. Shouldn't have been shelved for the rest of the year, but a tremendous injustice is a stretch.

Ryan Leaf once completed 1 of 15 passes for 4 yards in an NFL game and I am fairly certain I could do that later today after drinking 6 beers...does that mean I should be drafted into the NFL?

Seriously ya'll, move on.

In Les's secret formula for a QB maybe. Harris is superior in every facet except graduating high school a year after Jennings.

Harris was not ready and showed that during the Auburn game and again during the KY game. He will have the opportunity to improve, but it will take commitment on his part. Until then, you have to use the guy who gets it, even he is not the most talented.

Better talent doesn't equal playing time to CLM. I believe CLM takes his job of head coach of LSU football similar as he would raising his own children. After all, they are watching his actions on/off the field as we are. He treats his players as his own kids, as a mentor and father figure...probably why he is such a great recruiter, as a parent myself, I definitely respect that. If you want it, you HAVE to earn it, nothing is given, from nothing earned. I like that. He is teaching his players more than just football, because life is more than football, and I think he takes this very seriously, as any parent should.

quote:

Exactly. He won the job and Harris did nothing to win it back. He (as many fans here as well) wanted the job given to him even though he was getting outworked by an older, more experienced player and proven winner.

The fact that it took Harris until the fall to realize he needed to be outworking Jennings is his own fault.

In any situation in life, if you want something someone else has (and Jennings WON the job) you need to go get it, not wait for someone to give it to you because you think you deserve it. Your own personal opinion of yourself doesn't mean as much as someone elses if they are the ones determining if you get what you want.

Harris should have known what time #10 was going to arrive and beat him by 5 minutes every day. If he did an extra hour of film study, I want two hours. If he stays around for 30 minutes with Dural after practice, I want an hour with Dupre and Quinn.
Worth repeating.

Wow, that simple, huh? Jaxtiger10, you should fill us in on the rest of your coaching platitudes, then, we could all be coaches.

I'll tell you this, when I read these kinds of smug assertions I recognize someone who hasn't lived long enough to acquire wisdom or someone who never will.

First, he's from Bossier. Not Shreveport. Believe it or not there is a difference. Shreveport actually voted for Mary Landrieu. Second, he's the first player to come out of big time school, so we are proud of him and want him to excel. Third, Jennings hasn't done anything all year. As shown in the Arky game, couldn't move the ball to save his life. We just want to see Miles not be so damn stubborn trying to run the same offense all game and think it'll eventually work. What would it hurt to try something different and change up his play calls or put different players at key positions.

All of this....get your fricking facts straight. BH all but admitted he hasn't prepared properly for the game at this level.
Maybe next year he will be ready. In the meantime, he can hand the ball off as well as AJ and not letting him do so occasionally makes me think Les can FO.

Harris is Much Higher Risk than AJ and is immature to boot.
Having him at QB gives LSU an increased chance of losing than AJ.

What does Mary Landrieu have to do with Brandon Harris??

I agree that Harris should have at least split time with Jennings in the Arkansas game. I think we will see an offense in the bowl game like we did against aTm. Harris time is coming, just wait. He should have been red shirted before the other 2 scholarship qbs left the team to give him a year of learning.

Hi, I'm Salmon, and I live in Shreveport. I think Harris wasn't ready this year.

Now you have met one.

It is not Shrevepor, there is a basic misunderstanding of the game of football and elite competition.
