No one could reasonably deny that blacks were are are subjected to racism and discrimination.
On the other hand, there is denial about the real risks of violence directed towards blacks. The odds of a black man being killed by a white cop is minute, especially when compared to the odds of a black man being killed by another black man.
There is also a tendency on the part of whites to attribute "ghetto" behavior to all blacks.

In the same vein it is a tendency on the part of blacks to believe whites are still leading the charge in racial discrimination.
