Last time I was on this board, which was like last week, 99% of the board was in agreement Tyreke was the problem with this team

He was, in fact in one of my threads I said if Tyreke didn't get his shite together this team wouldn't make the playoffs. But he's started getting his shite together. In about a week's time he improved his projected Win Shares from 1.4 to 2.3 and rising. This is the longest stretch of games where I've seen him in pass first mode. If he's finally getting it he's a keeper. If he starts relapsing into a hero baller, he should have plenty of opportunity to pad his stats and raise his trade value between now and the deadline.

Now is the perfect time to trade him, before he starts bricking those layups again.

His layup bricking is about shot selection, not skill. It also probably helps that he's playing SG rather than SF with Gordon out and has a smaller defender on him in the last few weeks. Gyno outlined the difference in November Tyreke and December Tyreke, Gordon went out on November 22nd. If Good Tyreke is the new normal, why on earth would you want to trade him? We should have a pretty good idea by the deadline which Tyreke we have, and the Tyreke we've seen in December is an All Star caliber guard that can win games for you.

His layup percentage was like EG's jumper % to start the season: too awful to maintain over a season. He's making his drive layups over the past 5 or so games. Makes a huge difference. I knew he would improve that, but I have no faith in his ever being better than a subpar defender. Jrue, AD, and Asik can obviously play defense. We need a legit wing defender to play alongside Reke, allowing him to defend the worst offensive player between the 1,2, and 3.
