Optimistic?

You mean pessimistic.

Jackson is gone to LSU. Phillips, Ugo and Jackson have all talked about playing together. LSU has an immediate need at DE, while also having a better overall defense (obviously). If these guys were all in a Neutral state, it would be a no brainer. Our ONLY advantage is distance.

The strange thing is that Chavis has become your "ace" out of state recruiter. Adding his pulls to the LA and East TX guys and you have a solid group. At some point his recruiting "reputation" has got to change, right?

I'll take all 3 but I want Kyle the most can we call it a fair deal for giving you Barnett last year?

For those that look at anything but the surface Chavis has a very good reputation for recruiting. I think much of it is that he coaches up the guys he recruits, so the coordination between the two is excellent.

But you are right, there is "that" perception of Chavis as a non-recruiter for the most part. It took Clifton Garrett last year to jolt many out of that. If you are a high school defensive player, his personality is what you expect a defensive coach to be. "Gruff" is the first adjective to apply.
