X BOX One and 360 games

I bought the ONE for a present.
I understand that the 360 games don't play on the ONE, but if the person has an existing X Box Live subscription, does that allow them to play the games they have on the 360.
I'm not a gamer and don't know how any of this works so please help a guy out here.

No.
The games would have to be ported over by the developer to run on the Xbox one since it is a whole different operating system and specs.

Thanks. Looks like I need to buy Fifa 15.

Couldn't that person continue to play their 360 games on the 360, and any new XB1 games on the XB1?

Yea, you can do that. You just may have to sign in with your gamertag everytime you switch consoles.
