As for lodging: We used Riverhouse At The Park. Located at the end of the ‘strip,’ on Ski Mountain Road. The ‘cheap’ rooms overlook the creek—the rushing water was loud, having to raise our voices a bit even on our third floor private balcony. Don’t know what the ‘parkside’ rooms are like, which are priced higher.

Obviously an older hotel, but everything works like it should. The place is VERY well maintained. The shower had the highest water flow of any I’ve seen, and there was endless hot water. I’d stay again just for that shower.

One of the advantages is being able to park, then walk most anywhere. Gatlinburg is long on things to do and way short on parking.
