Just went and tried a bunch of irons. Fell in love with the AP1s. Absolutely crushed them..consistently flew the 6 iron 205. Even when i hit the AP2 flush it'd fly 185.

The new TMs are crazy forgiving, just didn't feel as comfortable with them.

New set will be here in two weeks.

If you love AP1s buy them. You're not ready for those 850s if AP1s are your favorite. What I mean is the AP1s look like a shovel compared to Mizunos.

Congrats. Youre right they are long. But I don't think there is a 20 yd distance gap in between the two models. I hit my 6 iron just as long if not longer than I did the ap1 6. Anyway You will love them and after next summer you will be ready to invest in the ap2's.
