We did away with vo-tech and other programs because tracking was considered racist...yeah, our country is stupid.
Where does this end? College tuition is no longer worth it's value. It is over-saturated and students begin their working careers owing an average of $28k...or a full year of career pay after taxes (on average).
Do you have any idea how many vo-tech schools are in the State of Louisiana?

There are always exceptions. But, the geared focus is still test scores. And states are different in how they push these measures forward.
With new federal programs and money allocation based on school ratings, these will continue to diminish.
