Also, let your GF pick HER OWN gun
Woops.

chick - a small hammerless revolver, if it's in her purse there's no reason to worry about a misfire because the slide catches, etc.
A lot of people default to revolvers for women. While you have a good point about the functionality of a revolver, they fall short in a couple of areas:
1. Capacity
2. Trigger pull
3. Sights
4. Recoil (bore axis is much higher than a semi auto)

dude - hard not to recommend a 3" kimber .45 - they're so slim, lightweight...but the price may be a huge turnoff.
45s also give you a very low capacity in a compact gun. But that's up to the user. For the most part, 9, 40, and 45 all do the same thing so it's up to the user.

yeah, but bigger ball = bigger hole. I'm not talking about force as they are the same
I like shooting the .45 better and the hole is bigger though perhaps the difference is immaterial to some.
also, on the subject of capacity, 7+1 isn't something to shake a stick at and you can always carry another magazine, single stack mag makes it slimmer, the slide on those things is so trim...I think if you blend it all together, it's a great if not ideal carry gun
essentially, I agree, it's up to the user. I would urge the OP to find something that is comfortable though...my first CC purchase I didn't keep that in mind, though it wasn't bad...I slipped on a single stack mag and aaah, so much better

Bap - my P245 has 6+1 capacity (Mrs. Midnight's 627 holds 8 ) and I hated to take the old, spent trijicons off - as I couldn't miss with it.
Lot to be said for 7 hits, as opposed to any number of misses with the Wonder Nines...

I've also never heard of a 3 in 1911 style pistol that wasn't pretty finicky.
