Race had nothing to do with this.
This was an unfortunate convergence of circumstances including (but not limited to) his health, statist tax regulations, his poor choice to resist, cops forced to enforce a stupid law.

This is the best statement so far on this incident. This incident IS mainly the fault of a ridiculous overreaching big government law. BUT the cops unfortunately serve under the PC and the Mayer in NYC, and must enforce their laws. This gentleman was charged NUMEROUS TIMES with this crime and continued to defy the law. When the LEOs informed him that he was in violation again, HE made the decision to resist.
His resistance coupled with his poor health are the prevailing factors that lead to his death.
While I definitely agree that the LEGISLATORS bear much responsibility in this case, the victim SHOULD NOT have resisted.
It's a damn shame that a government overreach ended up putting in motion the loss of a mans life though.
