The new AD is trying hard to kill the whole "ties to Michigan" thing. Mora has some limited ties; according to mgoblog, "Former M OL Courtney Morgan is on Mora's staff, so he could be a point of contact. [Michigan insider] Sam [Webb] also points out that Mora and Mike DeBord were on the same Seahawks staff($) five or so years ago."

As far as I know, Mullen has no ties. But it shouldn't matter - Michigan does seem to be genuinely trying to find the most qualified candidate this time around now that Pizza Man AD has been canned.

Welcome aboard, FT.

I would give Schiano a "B." He's a bit of an a-hole and his stock seems to have dropped since the Rutgers days. But, he did do that whole thing of studying programs for a year and I think will be a much better coach because of it. Isn't his offensive philosophy pretty conservative?

I haven't heard any talk down here about anything serious between Michigan and Mullen. Is there a belief/evidence up there that either party is interested?
