1. well, it has a lot to do with the fact that people don't pay for services to rank kickers and long snappers. Most don't care and it's an after thought. They want to see articles on the top rated QB's, RB's, OT's and WR's. No one wants to read an article on a punter.

2. these two specific positions tend to have their own camps. Meaning, they don't all attend the same camps that others do.

3. There are not enough recruiter service staff members out there to adequately rate these kids.

4. most of these service staff members don't know how to adequately rank a punter or kicker. It's a tough position to evaluate unless you're a pro in that specific area.

5. Also, most guys state that it's almost impossible to predict this position. Some of the most highly recruited end up being nothing in college and the walk ons end up in the NFL.

Thanks, I think you hit it especially good on 1) --> 3). I sort of question your 4) and 5) since you could say the same thing about QBs, RBs, WRs, OL, DL, LBers, CB, S In other words, if they hung recruiting services for hitting most of the time correctly, they would be hanging innocent people.

BTW, if what you said about that they aren't qualified to rate kickers and punters and snappers, then fine, let's go with that. Then, the logical result of that should be they should not rate them at all and they should be removed from entering into the average rating of signees/commits. I agree with you BTW pretty much on your answers but it makes them look stupid and mathetically naive to then drop teams who sign punters, placekickers, and snappers...and it can definitely do a number on the average rating column.
