Wasn't happy one bit, I can remember hearing Jimmy Ott on the radio breaking the news and remember thinking this guy just had his team slaughtered in the Alamo bowl by the Ohio State University and we are hiring him as Head Coach. I remember thinking that Bertman may know Baseball but he doesn't know crap about football. Never really liked the hire from the very beginning.

This. I remember how much he was made fun of in the Big XII. Many people thought that he was mentally handicapped because of the shite he would say. His teams at Okie State never challenged for the conference title and he blew huge leads in games versus Texas on several occasions. Many LSU fans didn't know who he was, and the fanbase as a whole was very underwhelmed by the hire.
