None of this would have happened if there had been no crime committed in the first place.

So the lesson is don't resist, don't get shot. I'm guessing some people aren't going to see it that way.

I don't care who's at fault in these situations, there's no reason anyone has to die.

He was fighting the police. That what happens when you fight the police. Case closed.

Sounds like the dude had a pretty prolonged skirmish with the cop in question.

From the article:

"It gives the impression that it's open season for killing black men"

Sure, if you wrestle with police officers

"During the struggle, Brisbon put his left hand in his pocket and the officer grabbed onto the suspect's hand, while repeatedly telling the suspect to keep his hand in his pocket," he said. "The officer believed he felt the handle of a gun while holding the suspect's hand in his pocket."

Is that a gun in your pocket or are you just excited to be arrested?

What ever happened to "police officer shoots suspect on duty"? or simply, "officer shoots unarmed man".

It did not mention that he was in fact involved in a drug deal as a reason for fleeing until 3/4's of the way through the article.

He had drugs on him and was resisting arrest. Nothing to see here.

So this guy was fighting with a cop with a bottle of drugs in his pocket. Yeah, this white cop has just lost his mind.

The officer said the driver, later identified as Brisbon, got out and appeared to be removing something from the rear of the SUV. The officer told Brisbon to show his hands, but Brisbon stuffed his hands into his waistband, Crump said. The officer drew his weapon and Brisbon ran toward nearby apartments, Crump said. A short foot chase ensued. "Witnesses indicated to us that the suspect was verbally challenging to the officer," Crump said. Brisbon refused to comply with the officer's commands to get on the ground, and the two struggled once the officer caught up with him, Crump said. "During the struggle, Brisbon put his left hand in his pocket and the officer grabbed onto the suspect's hand, while repeatedly telling the suspect to keep his hand in his pocket," he said

Welp, he got what was coming to him.

-verbally challenging the officer while putting hands in waistband
-run away
-puts hands in pocket during struggle

1,2, 3 strikes....you gone.
