(which means it starts two hours into the Saints game and 4/5 of the games that day... good job Garber)
When would you rather it be played? Play it today, and it's competing against college football for viewers.
Fans in LA, Portland, Columbus, Salt Lake, etc. don't have local NFL teams to watch tomorrow (even NE plays a night game), while they all have local college teams. Makes more sense to go up against NFL games in this situation, if you ask me.

Just finished.
I played as NE, friend played as LA. Game started out pretty cagey. Not much happened and it was back and forth. 25th minute the Revs had some great build up and Nguyen played a beautiful ball to Fagundez who struck it first time and rocketed the ball just inside the far post from the edge of the 18. 1-0 Revs.
The Revs had control of the game after this and Nguyen played provider 10 minutes later. He made a great run between the LB/CB and sent a cross near post to Bunbury who got across his man to nod in a header. 2-0 at halftime.
The 2nd half was pretty bland. LA did come close through Donovan in the 75th minute. Nguyen had a nice curling effort saved in the dying stages of the game. 2-0 final. NE are the champions.
