That's not illegally profiling someone. That's illegally discriminating against someone.

The only thing cops can Legally profile anyone for is AGE. If someone looks like the are underage smoking, drinking or out after curfew (city ordinances) then you can LEGALLY stop them. Otherwise profiling of any kind is illegal. Holder saying that today shows how out of touch he is with law enforcement.
Our department really stresses to our officers to not profile based upon anything besides AGE. Do we have officers that do it? I am sure that it happens, but it is not something that we approve of. We also have a pretty good relationship with our community. The criminals don't like us, but that is to be expected.
