So this "Ferguson-type shooting" was unlike the Ferguson situation in almost every way, except the subject in this case was black and was killed by law enforcement.
Brandishing a weapon at police officers is simply not a good idea, white, black, plaid, orange, purple, mauve, whatever color your are.
Ditto for trying to disarm an officer - I cannot recommend it, as you will have no margin for safety.
