Now days, not really. I've seen guys arrested and found guilty of domestic abuse with nothing more than her claiming he'd hit her and a fuzzy Polaroid picture showing a bruise on someone's back. The picture was supposedly taken by the girl's brother at some point and you can't even tell who's back is in the picture. Thankfully it was thrown out on appeal but that was after the guy spent more time in jail and lord know's how much more in attorney fees.
